BULLSHIT. Gary Oldman has been acting for 30+ years. He’s one of the best actors in Hollywood. He gets his first nomination ever this year and he loses to a guy who literally did not speak a single line.
Can’t say I’m surprised that the Academy, who just gave 82 year old Christopher Plummer his first award way past due, botched an award. Not like they don’t do it every year.
I am not taking anything from Gary Oldman. But it is an award for performance in 1 film, not a career. There is an award for a career, and this is not it.
Yes, but by all accounts he was fantastic in this film. The guy who won the award did not speak in the movie. That just doesn’t sit well with me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen some fantastic silent performances, but still.
